In looking back at this emotional journey, I have come to appreciate the many doors that have opened for me, and the countless, generous people who were standing in that doorway with open arms. Because of their help and support, I have done things in my life that, previously, I only dreamed about.
I would like to give back a bit to one person in particular. He is a man of many talents - carpenter, musician, photographer, and comedian. Yes, making people laugh is a talent and he has never failed to make me smile or to put the 'fun' back in funny. (And no, we are not going to feature his many jokes. Although, we could certainly fill up a whole blog on that!)
What I want to feature is his amazing photography. I remember seeing one of his photographes for the first time and it literally took me aback. It was such a simple photo really, but I recall staring at it for a long time. It was a photo taken of a tree - a leafless tree at that. But it was so striking and so beautiful that I couldn't help but inquire about it. Through questioning him, I automatically longed to have him design the header for my website - something striking yet beautiful. Something that says so much with so little. And to my great joy, he accepted. Here's my link to my website if you would like to check out the header.
So anyway, this is a segment on the blog to feature the works of my dearest friend Mícheál Ó Caoinleain and no other. Below is a picture of that tree that caught my eye and held my attention and I wanted to share it with everyone. Throughout this new blog segment, if you ever see something you like, please let Mícheál or I know.
"The location is 52 deg 5' 0.00" N 04 deg 14' 39.00" E or in the dunes up around Kijkduin, just outside the Hague in the Netherlands. It was taken by this dead tree standing alone on the side of a path. I took a number of photos of this tree, and this particular one was reworked in a photo editor. It was more of an experiment that worked…."
