Sometimes we look at the clock and it’s already 9pm. And if you’re like me, at 9 pm you can put a fork in me because I am done. D.O.N.E!
With the summer coming to a close, and school back in session, I am scrambling for more time in the day. I start my day at 5:30 AM by getting my four boys (ages 11-17) off to school, dear hunky husband off to work, and get myself off to my “real” job. Yes... writing is my hobby job…well…read on…
Of course this puts me home in the late afternoon, just in time for my kids to get home from school, get a snack and off to sports. Am I complaining? NO! I’m just saying I need more time. I can’t stay up late because it’s been proven that I can’t write worth a nickle after 9 PM. And I’m finding that I need that extra time-God knows where I can get it-because I have edits to get finished.
How in the world did I ever get six novels written? Well. . . you see this is the problem. For the past three years, my children attended a school out of our district so I was able to sit in car line for over an hour and write with out any distractions. This year they are all in middle school and ride the bus. Where does the extra hour go?
Yep, laundry, cleaning little boy pee off the toilets, dust bunnies, getting dinner ready earlier, grocery…But I did all this last year and I can’t remember how.
It’s time to buckle down and get into a routine.
So for the next six months, I will be coming up for air once a month to stop by and blog here at Past The Print. I blog about life, writing, and heroes!
Well. . .I might check facebook every once in a while. . .
Can you suggest some time management skills?
